Setting up MS Outlook Express to receive e-mail

To setup your Outlook Express to handle your new POP3 e-mail account, please follow the instruction below :-

  1. Select Tools -> Accounts... to open the Internet Accounts dialog box.

  2. Click button Add and select Mail... to start the Internet Connection Wizard.

  3. Enter Your Name in the display name field. This name will appear in the From field of the outgoing message. Type your name as it would you like to appear. Click Next > button.

  4. Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail address field which is yourname@yourcompany.com.my

  5. Click Next > button to fill out the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server : mail.yourcompany.com.my and Outgoing mail (SMTP) server : mail.yourcompany.com.my

  6. Click Next > button to enter your Internet Mail Logon information. Enter yourname%yourcompany.com.my in the POP account name field and enter your password in the Password field. Your password is yourname. (eg. if your e-mail address is bill@microsoft.com, then your password is bill )

  7. Click Next > button to enter a friendly name for your new mail account to be setup then click Next > button again to select your connection type.

  8. Click Next > button and Finish button to end the setting.

Checking you e-mail through web browser (IE, Netscape, etc.)

  1. Go to this url : http://mail.yourcompany.com.my:8383/

  2. You will see a login screen. On the UserID field type your full email address (yourname@yourcompany.com.my) and enter your password in the Password field.

  3. Click logon and it will bring you to the mail menu.

  4. You can change your password only from here through your Account Options.

Valid variable names must start with a letter, and can only contain letter, numbers, and underscores.
 
Please try the following:
  • Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click Debugging & Logging > Debugging Settings, and select the Robust Exception Information option.
  • Check the ColdFusion documentation to verify that you are using the correct syntax.
  • Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.
